Headless AI Governance Middleware

Inscripta sits between AI systems and business execution. Companies call the API before prompts, model outputs, or proposed actions reach production systems; the runtime applies tenant constraints, policy, routing, audit, and review gates.

Architecture

Call Inscripta before an AI action reaches production.

The dashboard is the control plane. The product surface is the middleware API: a headless runtime that lets company systems evaluate prompts, proposed actions, model output, and domain-specific constraints before execution.

Input
Company App

Chatbot, agent workflow, internal tool, or business process sends the request.

API
Inscripta Runtime

Gateway and tenant-scoped APIs normalize and evaluate the proposal.

Policy
Governance Pipeline

Active prompt versions, constraints, policies, and routing rules are applied.

Decision
Approve / Block / Review

Low-risk actions can proceed; risky or ambiguous actions enter review.

Evidence
Audit Trail

Runtime decisions and configuration references are recorded for later review.

Product architecture

Headless governance middleware, with a converter for domain setup.

Inscripta is organized as a runtime, a security front door, and a converter that makes domain configuration easier to create, review, version, and activate.

01 · Security gateway

Prompt and request validation before model execution.

The security gateway is the front door for unsafe prompt and request patterns. It supports company API keys, evaluator flows, audit logs, review queues, reports, and LLM provider selection.

  • Public gateway evaluation endpoint
  • Company-scoped API key authentication
  • Review queue and approval flows
  • Audit and report surfaces
02 · Domain governance runtime

Tenant policy, prompts, constraints, routing, and review.

The domain runtime is the generalized middleware layer. Domain behavior is configured by tenant policy, prompt versions, constraint sets, routing rules, and human approval controls.

  • Tenant-scoped governance APIs
  • Versioned prompt and constraint references
  • Sandbox and proposal evaluation flows
  • Human review via API and signed links
03 · Domain converter

Business material converted into reviewable runtime artifacts.

Expert teams can configure Inscripta manually. The converter adds convenience: it helps transform regulations, operating procedures, and business rules into obligations, constraints, and bundles.

  • Source ingestion and extraction jobs
  • Obligation review workflow
  • Constraint synthesis
  • Publish and activate artifact bundles
Integration APIs

Built to be called by software, not operated by screenshots.

The public website should lead with API surfaces because that is where enterprise systems integrate: gateway evaluation, tenant configuration, review decisions, audit evidence, and converter workflows.

POST /gateway/evaluate

Gateway evaluation

Company apps submit prompts or proposed actions before sending them to an LLM or business system.

/tenants/{id}/constraints

Constraint and policy APIs

Teams define active rules, prompt versions, provider choices, routing profiles, and review thresholds.

/proposals/{id}/approve

Review and approval

Risky proposals are decided with explicit approval or rejection and mandatory justification.

GET /audit/verify

Audit evidence

Audit records and chain verification APIs support traceability of runtime decisions and configuration.

/converter/jobs/extract

Converter jobs

External business or legal material can be registered, processed, and tracked through async extraction.

/converter/publish

Publish and activate

Approved converter output can become versioned runtime bundles used by sandbox and law-converter flows.

Domain configuration

One runtime. Many business domains.

The middleware does not need manufacturing, defense, healthcare, or legal behavior hardcoded into the application. Those behaviors are represented through tenant configuration and activated artifacts.

Manual setup
Admins configure prompts, constraints, policies, provider routing, and review rules directly.
Runtime refs
Evaluations reference active prompt and constraint versions so decisions can be reviewed later.
Review gates
High-risk or ambiguous proposals can be held for explicit human decision before execution.
Artifacts
Converter-published bundles can provide a shared domain context for analysis, training, and sandbox flows.
Converter

The converter is the bridge from business knowledge to runtime constraints.

Manual configuration works for expert teams. The converter helps transform business rules, regulations, or operating procedures into reviewable obligations, synthesized constraints, and versioned runtime bundles. It is a governed workflow, not an autonomous agent.

01

Ingest sources

Register external law, policy, procedure, or domain source material for tenant-scoped processing.

02

Extract obligations

Normalize candidate requirements into reviewable obligations with provenance and confidence context.

03

Human review

Approve, edit, or reject extracted obligations before they become runtime material.

04

Synthesize constraints

Generate constraint artifacts from approved obligations so the runtime can evaluate them consistently.

05

Publish and activate

Version bundles and activate the selected domain artifact for the tenant runtime.

Configurable domain patterns

Manufacturing and defense are examples of mapped domains, not hardcoded products.

These examples describe where the architecture can be configured. The current code supports the configuration model and converter flow; domain readiness depends on the reviewed constraints, prompts, and activated artifacts for each customer.

Mapped example

Manufacturing

ECN and change-control workflows, production actions, operational thresholds, and approval paths.

Mapped example

Defense / operations

Readiness checks, approval chains, operational constraints, and traceability for sensitive workflows.

Current converter focus

EU AI Act / legal

Role survey, clause retrieval, analysis, review, training, reporting, and converter artifact flows.

Configurable

Custom enterprise

Tenant-specific policies, constraints, provider routing, review rules, and audit requirements.

Inscripta should be sold as a configurable middleware architecture. The stronger claim is not “every vertical is prebuilt”; it is “the same runtime can represent different business domains through versioned configuration and reviewed artifacts.”
Product evidence

Control plane for the headless runtime.

The dashboard is useful, but it should be framed correctly: operators use it to configure, review, and inspect the middleware. It is not the main integration surface.

Map your first domain constraints.

Start with one workflow: a chatbot request path, an agent action, or a regulated business process. Inscripta can be evaluated as a headless API layer before expanding into broader domain governance.
